Procedures
Daily
As soon as you enter the classroom, you will begin the daily bell work that is displayed on the screen. Work is to be completed in your notebook. After you finish please remain quietly in your seat.
After completing bell work, we will go into notes or an activity for the day.
Classroom Etiquette: Students need to remain seated at all times during class unless given permission to do otherwise. If you do not have the proper materials, such as a pencil or book, raise your hand and wait quietly. All pencil sharpening needs to be done at the beginning of class. If you need to get out of your seat for any reason, you must raise your hand first.
When I clap my hands or say "eyes and ears" that signals that everyone in the class needs to give me their undivided attention.
Class dismissal: There are no bells to signal when class is over. I will dismiss the students according to my watch, clock, or computer. I will let students know when it is time to clean up their area.
Electronic Devices: Electronic devices will be used throughout the year during many different applications. Students are to follow the directions given when using such devices. They are also only allowed to be used when permission is given. Any circumstances that a staff member deans inappropriate will face disciplinary actions according to the SNSC 1:1 technology handbook.
What if
If you need to leave the room use use the bathroom just grab the pass on my desk and go to the bathroom. Once you leave the room, you are responsible to making up what you miss on your own. So make a wise decision on whether to leave the room.
If you are sick, please raise your hand and wait quietly for me to call on you and write up you a nurses pass.
If there is a tornado drill, we will drop everything we are doing and silently exit the room. To get to our designated area, turn left out the door, and exit out the doors to the front of the school. Students will line up quietly.
If there is a tornado drill, we will remain in room 229. Everyone will be quiet and be in the kneeling position along the wall the dry erase board is on with their hands across the back of their head.
If there is ever an unstructured emergency (during passing periods, lunch, while you are in the restroom, etc...) be sure to walk out to the grass by the pond, wait, and look for your advisory teacher.
If the phone rings, we have a visitor, have an announcement or any other distraction in class, please sit quietly and remain working. There should be no conversations.
If you finish early, please grab a book, designated material or work on something else quietly. You may not go to your locker or walk around.
